The project
During 2023, Promos Italia is organising four Fam Trip sessions open to international buyers for the Chamber of Commerce of Milan. The aim is to promote and present the city as a destination for MICE tourism.
The initiative is dedicated to a selected group of operators from Europe and North America, allowing them to learn first-hand our territory's attractiveness through cultural visits, experiences, networking moments and site inspections.
The operators' selection was carried out in close collaboration with YesMilano Convention Bureau.
Sustainability and environmental issues have always been of the utmost importance for the projects that the Chamber of Commerce of Milan realises for the benefit of its companies.
The results of the Fam trip will be monitored in the coming months, but it is possible to detect information on the policies that the Milanese companies involved have implemented so far in terms of sustainability.
In particular, all the structures surveyed through our questionnaire have declared that they operate according to sustainability criteria via different initiatives:
- solar panels
- energy-saving solutions
- water flow reducers
- water-saving practices
- use of recyclable / eco-sustainable / plastic-free materials
- food wastage reduction
- process for obtaining environmental certifications
- choice of suppliers with green certifications
- conservation of biodiversity
The indications received have been updated and included in the programs.
All the buyers involved evaluated very positively the steps taken by the structures visited in terms of environmental sustainability and believe that Milan is concretely working on sustainability in an attempt to eliminate non-degradable plastic and packaging.
Furthermore, the search for ecological and renewable alternatives to traditional energy sources carried out by the structures visited was also positively evaluated.
