The table is inspired by the Villa dei Misteri in Pompei, therefore the name “Pompei”.

Villa dei Misteri, It’s famous for the series of exquisite frescos in Room 5, which are usually interpreted as showing the initiation of a bride into a Greco-Roman mystery cult. These are now among the best known of the relatively rare survivals of Ancient Roman painting from the 1st century BC.

In the ancient tradition, cocciopesto is a building material used as waterproof flooring for interiors and exteriors and for wall covering. It is made up of fragments of bricks (tiles or bricks) which have been minutely crushed and fine mortar based on lime and pozzolana.

This technique that we have revisited comes back to life not only in floors but also in truly original objects, made so by the mix of art, craftsmanship and design.

In fact, during the production of the table, it is broken by hand by us and later restored.

The production is completely handmade and made in Italy.

The table has a stain treatment and is hydro oil repellent, on request there can be used eco-sustainable products.

The surface is polished by hand and moved with ripples. Typical feature of Cocciopesto is the presence on the surface of dots of various grain sizes, small pores, colored inclusions and traces of craquelure.
