If there is one thing you never forget during a trip, it is your roots. And so we did: Simone and Serena. Simone traveled the world for years, in America, Australia, New Zealand. Thousands of kilometers from home. Serena is convinced to take other paths, other than wine, and instead rediscovers herself enthusiastic about walking through the vineyards of Dolegnano, alongside her brother. Waiting for us, a safe haven: our parents Elodia and Giovanni who have always made wine their most awaited journey. Bucovaz is a family winery which, just like a vine plant, finds balance in the wisdom of its roots, firmly on the ground, and in the strength of its tendrils, ready to climb upwards.
For 3 generations the Bucovaz vineyards have cut through the landscape like the long corridors of an airport. And right here, every day, first grandfather Giuseppe and then father Giovanni, took care of our vineyards, with only one main rule: to be sustainable. During the year, we prepare everything down to the smallest detail before arriving at the embarkation of our first class passengers: the bunches.
We are located in the easternmost part of Friuli Grave, protected from cold winds, thanks to the Julian Prealps chain. In this area delimited by the Judrio and Corno rivers, the microclimate is mild and temperate with good temperature ranges. The soil is of alluvial origin and in the vineyards varies from gravelly to medium texture. This makes every trip with Bucovaz unforgettable.
For us, each grape is like a little passenger to cuddle. We take care of it, guaranteeing support and safety during the harvest, and then the well-deserved rest in the vats after pressing. To do so, Simone traveled all over the world. He studied the protocols of the most famous wineries in California, Australia and New Zealand. Upon returning home, he immediately made his wealth of knowledge and skills available to the family and the winery.
